M204.0772  "(" expected after field name

An INITIALIZE command has been issued for a file whose FILEORG parameter specifies either the SORT, HASH, or RECSCTY option, but the character following the field name was not a left parenthesis ((). The only valid information following the field name is field attributes within parentheses. A correct example is:

INITIALIZE SORT IO (KEY,FRV)

Response: Correct and retry. See INITIALIZE command for a discussion of the correct syntax.
