MSIR.0397 Invalid (type) change on REDEFINE command of field with SIRFIELD attributes: (field)

This message indicates that a REDEFINE FIELD field command was issued, and that the command could not succeed because field is a SIRFIELD alias or has been specified in a SIRFIELD field FORMAT command. Some forms of REDEFINE command are allowed for fields with SIRFIELD attributes, but this command attempted to change the attribute indicated by type.

See the Sir2000 Field Migration Facility Reference Manual for a description of the REDEFINE attributes not allowed after a various SIRFIELD commands. If you wish to make the attempted change to the field definition, you must re-INITIALIZE the file and issue the new DEFINE FIELD command for the field, and re-execute the series of SIRFIELD commands for the file.

The command is rejected.
