MSIR.0685 (XPath error reason) near or before position (pos):

This message indicates that an error occurred while parsing an XPath expression argument. 'XPath_error_reason' indicates the cause of the error. 'Pos' indicates the input position (in bytes) of the Janus SOAP parsing routine when the error was detected; this may be either quite near the error, or after some point at which the error could be detected.

This message is followed by a message (MSIR.0664) which echoes the input XPath expression, or a fragment of it which is at or near the location in the string at which the error was discovered.
