Length of a longstring

Note: Most Sirius $functions have been deprecated in favor of Object Oriented methods. The OO equivalent for the $Lstr_Len function is the Length function.

This function takes a string or longstring input and produces a numeric output that is the length of the input string or longstring.

The $Lstr_Len function accepts one argument and returns a numeric result that is the length of the first argument.

The first argument is an arbitrary string or longstring

Syntax

%len = $Lstr_Len(longstring)

%len is the length of longstring

Usage notes

$Lstr_Len can be used wherever $Len is used, but $Len will cause request cancellation for an input Longstring of length greater than 255 bytes.
