M204.1688  token in pattern 'token2' near character token3

During the evaluation of a SOUL request or Host Language Interface function, a syntax error is detected in the token2 pattern at character number token3. token0 is one of the following:

  • BAD REPEAT FUNCTION
  • ILLEGAL SPECIAL CHARACTER
  • SYNTAX

In SOUL, the request is canceled. Host Language Interface functions receive a return code of 4.
