Description

The logical terminal name that associates a Model 204 user number with a particular terminal

TERMID is relevant only for Model 204 threads connected through the SNA Communications Server and IUCV teleprocessing interfaces. TERMID is a character-string parameter. It must not be blank and must contain from one to eight characters.

If included for SNA Communications Server, TERMID must specify the SNA Communications Server terminal ID, if a SNA Communications Server user thread is associated with a specific SNA Communications Server terminal for the entire Online run.

For threads connected through IUCV and running under z/VM, TERMID must specify the z/VM user ID of the virtual machine for which the thread is reserved.

If TERMID is not set, user threads are dynamically allocated to terminals as they log in to Model 204. When a terminal disconnects, its thread becomes free for the next terminal that logs in.

Each user's TERMID is included in the login confirmation message that appears in the audit trail. If a value has not been specified for TERMID, Model 204 displays the logical terminal name for the Model 204 thread.
