This message is used to warn that a Sirius Software product (as indicated by product) will expire soon (within n days), in case your site depends on the continued availability of this product. This message is issued together with any other products that are expiring soon, once at the beginning of the Model 204 job and once at the end. If there are any of these products, then the set of messages is enclosed in a "flower box", which also uses message MSIR.0427.

The rule used to determine that a product expires soon is that it is either in the last week of its authorization period, or it is in the last month and it started over a month prior. If you have a product which has expired in the last month, this message is also issued, with the string "expires in n days" replaced by the string "is expired".

This message is sent to the system operator; you may want to use an automated facility which captures important operator messages so they can be acted upon.

If you receive this message and you need the product to be available please call Technical Support. If you receive this message and you want an expired product to be removed from the set of warning messages, call Technical Support for a new authorization zap which does not include the expired product.

Rocket Software does not, as a rule, recommend suppressing these messages, but you can do so by applying a zap shown below.

Message attributes:

RETCODEO=0Sets online return code
RETCODEB=0Sets batch (single user) return code
CLASS=IInformation class; the message can be suppressed with the X'02' bit setting of the MSGCTL parameter
AUDITMSWrites the message with line type MS to the audit trail
NOCOUNTDoes not increment the error count (ERCNT) parameter
OPRWrites the message to the (operator) console

Suppress product expiration warnings from operator console

If you receive operator console MSIR.0427 messages warning about the expiration of one or more Sirius products, you can disable these messages for a period of one month (after which they will disappear, because the time period for issuing the warnings will have elapsed).

* ---------------------------------------------- * Example: stop operator expiration warnings * * A zap similar to the following will suppress * operator MSIR.0427 expiration warnings until * they are no longer produced. The date, in * MMDDYYYY format, is the date when you want * to start suppressing them; usually just use * the current date when you apply the zap. * NAME ONLINE SIRK$ VER 070A 0000,0000 REP 070A 0713,2000 Suppress starting 13 Jul 2000 * ------------- End of zap --------------------

Do not literally copy the indicated ZAP -- it won't work. The date in the ZAP must be 30 days or less before the current date for the message suppression to work.
