Length of a longstring

Note: Many $functions have been deprecated in favor of Object Oriented methods. The OO equivalent for the $Lstr_Len function is the Length function.

$Lstr_Len takes a String or Longstring input, and it produces a numeric output that is the length of the input String or Longstring.

Syntax

%len = $Lstr_Len(longstring)

%len is the length of longstring.

longstring is an arbitrary String or Longstring.

Usage notes

$Lstr_Len can be used wherever $Len is used, but $Len causes request cancellation for an input Longstring of length greater than 255 bytes.
