<section begin="desc" />Length of a longstring<section end="desc" />

Most Sirius $functions have been deprecated in favor of Object Oriented methods. The OO equivalent for the $Lstr_Len function is to be entered.

This function takes a string or longstring input and produces a numeric output that is the length of the input string or longstring.

The $Lstr_Len function accepts one argument and returns a numeric result that is the length of the first argument.

The first argument is an arbitrary string or longstring

Syntax

<section begin="syntax" /> %LEN = $Lstr_Len(longstring) <section end="syntax" />

$Lstr_Len Function

%LEN is the length of :hp1.longstring:ehp1..

$Lstr_Len can be used wherever $LEN is used but $LEN will cause request cancellation for an input LONGSTRING of length greater than 255 bytes.

For more information see :hdref refid=lstr..

$Lstr_Len is only available in Sirius Mods Version 6.2 and later.
