Foo

Foo is a commonly used word to mean not much at all and is heavily used by programmers singularly lacking in imagination. Undoubtedly, if a programmer cannot think of a name for something, the first name that will pop into his or her head will be Foo. Foo most likely comes from the word Foobar which has similar expressive qualities.

Oh Foo we bow before thee and beg forgiveness for using thy name in apathy or in jest. We are not worthy to use thy name but, overwhelmed by thy fooness, cannot help ourselves. Please forgive us, Foo.
