MSIR.0974  TRY invalid -- token

A Try block was invoked without the correct SOUL structure to process. One problem might be that there are no SOUL statements within the Try block to test for an exception, in which case the following message is produced:

MSIR.0974: TRY invalid -- nothing tried

Another possibility is that the Try block does not contain a valid Catch or Rethrow statement to catch an exception condition, in which case the following error would be produced:

MSIR.0974: TRY invalid -- no Catch block(s) or Rethrows

Message attributes:

RETCODEO=0Sets online return code
RETCODEB=4Sets batch (single user) return code
CLASS=EError class; the message can be suppressed with the X'04' bit setting of the MSGCTL parameter
AUDITERWrites the message with line type ER to the audit trail
COUNTIncrements the error count (ERCNT) parameter
ECHODisplays the line that caused the error
