MSIR.1018  Success invalid -- token

A Success block has been coded incorrectly. The following examples are amongst the texts that might appear with this message:

  • The Success block was coded outside a Try block, but it must always appear inside a Try block. In this case, the following message is produced:

    MSIR.1018: Success invalid -- not inside a Try block

  • More than one Success block was coded in a Try block, but only one Success block is allowed per Try block. In this case, the following message is produced:

    MSIR.1018: Success invalid -- only one Success allowed per Try block

Message attributes:

RETCODEO=0Sets online return code
RETCODEB=4Sets batch (single user) return code
CLASS=EError class; the message can be suppressed with the X'04' bit setting of the MSGCTL parameter
AUDITERWrites the message with line type ER to the audit trail
